Momentum Business Designs (“MBD”) Privacy Policy

Purpose

MBD respects the privacy of our clients, our team members, and others. This document is our firm’s policy on collecting, using, and disclosing personal information. MBD has developed policies and procedures to maintain personal information’s security, confidentiality, and privacy. Our policies comply with the provincial legislation (Alberta Information Protection Act). “Personal Information” – Refers to information about an identifiable individual, but does not include the name, job title or business address and business telephone number of an individual. Anything that might appear on a business card or can be found through publicly available information would not be considered personal information.  

MBD Privacy Policy

Our priority is to keep personal information secure and in strict confidence for our clients, team members, suppliers, and contractors. Our privacy policy adheres to the ten principles of privacy as set out by the Canadian Standards Association’s Privacy Principles. 

1. Accountability 

MBD is accountable for all personal information in its possession or control, including any personal information disclosed to third parties for processing or other administrative functions, and for professional standards purposes.

 2. Identifying Purpose 

At MBD, we will identify the purposes for which personal information is collected either before or at the time the information is collected. 

3. Consent 

The individual’s knowledge and consent are required under applicable privacy legislation, for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information. 

4. Limits on the Collection of Personal Information 

The collection of personal information will be limited to that which is required by MBD to perform its professional services and operate its business. Such information will be collected by fair and lawful means. 

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention of Personal Information 

Personal information will not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required or permitted by applicable law, rules, or regulations. Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes. 

6. Accuracy 

Personal information will be as accurate, complete, and up to date as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used. 

7. Safeguards 

MBD will protect personal information by using security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information. 

8. Openness 

MBD will make information available to its clients and employees about the policies and practices that apply to the management of their information. In addition, further information on the firm’s privacy policy can be obtained from the firm’s Privacy Officer. 

9. Individual Access to Personal Information 

Upon request, MBD will provide individuals with personal information under its control and information on its use and disclosure. An individual may verify the accuracy and completeness of their information and may request that it be amended if appropriate.
